NSDC: We will not wage a war on two fronts

Ukraine does not have enough resources for a simultaneous war in Donbass and Crimea, Krivonos said.

The option of forcibly returning Crimea is not being considered, as the country will not be able to carry out two wars, says Deputy Head of the National Security and Defense Council Sergei Krivonos. He said this on the air of the Dom television channel.

“We clearly understand that to solve the problem [с возвращением Крыма] Ukraine cannot use force at this stage. Because there are problems, first of all, the war in Donbass. We will not be able to wage a war on two fronts, not even by legally returning our lands, ”said Krivonos.

In this regard, it is necessary to continue to actively cooperate with world leaders to raise the issue of increased sanctions against the Russian Federation.

“Bring Russia to such a level with these sanctions that the question is: either will they give up Crimea or will they go” without pants “, relatively speaking, and this is the main thing. At the same time, the deputy director of the NSDC said that Russia could seize the hydrotechnical structures of the North Crimean Canal in the Kherson region.

“The point is that the water is being pumped into the Crimea, and the Russians have to do a lot of work to restore the capacity of the North Crimean canal to operation. Now they don’t work on the canal, ”says Krivonos.

“Even if the Russians take over, the water won’t flow as fast. It takes more than a week to fill the canal. This is if everything works, everything is fixed and everything is being repaired … For six years, the Russians in Crimea have not dealt with this issue, they have used the resources of Crimea, “he said.

Earlier, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine said that the Russian Federation should request the supply of water to Crimea, recognizing itself as an occupier.
