Russia does not allow international human rights defenders to enter occupied Crimea and supplies the Donbass with weapons. This is how the Kremlin tries to justify its aggression against Ukraine, according to the Russian Foreign Ministry.

This was stated by the Deputy Foreign Minister, Emine Jeppar, during a speech at a virtual meeting on the sidelines of the 75th UN General Assembly, reports Radio Liberty.

“Russia is trying to justify its aggression against Ukraine by distorting the principles of R2P. The Russian occupation authorities are denying international human rights monitors, in particular the UN Human Rights Monitoring Mission in Ukraine, the access to Crimea. Illicit supplies of arms and ammunition to Donbass continue. In the occupied territories it is at constant risk, “he said.

  • On March 18, 2014, a so-called “agreement” on the admission of Crimea and Sevastopol to the Russian Federation was signed in the Kremlin.
