Paris has launched an investigation into the leak of information about a conversation between French President Emmanuel Macron and Russian President Vladimir Putin. This was announced by a representative of the French Foreign Ministry, reports TASS.
“Any leak of confidential internal documents is unacceptable. For this reason, we refrain from commenting. An investigation is under way,” said a spokesman for the French department.
It is noted that the conversation between the presidents took place on September 14. Le Monde newspaper later claimed that during the conversation, Putin spoke with contempt of opposition leader Alexei Navalny and even called him “a mere Internet troublemaker.”
At the same time, sources in the Business Insider publication on intelligence indicated that the French leader, despite his loyal attitude to Putin, was still unhappy with the conversation. The conversation seriously undermined already tense relations between Moscow and the European Union, they noted. Also, during the conversation, Macron’s pride was allegedly injured.
We will remember, Navalny fell ill on August 20 during the flight from Tomsk to Moscow, the plane landed in Omsk. There he fell into a coma, a few days later he was transferred from the Omsk hospital to the Berlin clinic “Charite”. European toxicologists said that Novichok group substances were found in Navalny’s body. His prints were found on a bottle underwater, which his relatives removed from the Tomsk hotel room. In September, Navalny came out of a coma and was discharged from the Charite.
