The last two weeks “Kolos” has been going through a super busy schedule, but at the same time very interesting. Having opened the local stadium with a victory over Lvov, the Kovalevites headed for the first European tour to Thessaloniki, where Aris awaited them as his favorite. Few people bet on the guys from Ruslan Kostyshin, but the guests, having mastered their emotions at first, clearly showed how they got to the European Cups. Unconditional compliance with the facility, dedication when playing defense and quick launch to counterattacks. Even a newcomer, experienced in high-level fights, Evgeny Seleznev, admired the actions of his teammates after the match.
From Greece, the Kovalevites immediately went to Lviv, where they achieved their third successive victory, beating Rukh. On Monday, Ruslan Kostyshin gave the players a well-deserved day off, and on Wednesday morning Kolos headed to Rijeka. Admittedly, Kolos’ task initially seems simpler: after all, Rijeka is not Wolfsburg at all. Croatian Mladen Bartulovich, who has spent many years in Ukraine, pointed out in an interview with Sport.ua that Rijeka and Kolos are quite comparable in their class. On the eve of the match with Kolos, Rijeka suffered a significant loss of personnel. Antonio Colak, who has scored 26 goals in all competitions and became the championship’s top scorer, was sold to PAOK. To replace him, Sandro Kulenovic was hired from Dynamo Zagreb, but whether he will be able to replace the Croatian national team striker is a big question.
Rijeka prepares for the match with Kolos with great responsibility. “There are two games ahead of the semifinals and the final of the World Cup of our dreams. This is how we prepare, ”Croatian mentor Simon Rozhman said the day before. “We have enough experienced players who know what to expect and at the same time we have a lot of youth, energy and players who want to prove themselves. Kolos has won six wins in his last seven games. It is worth a lot to beat Aris in Greece, but we are confident and we think about our game ”, added the mentor.
