An active phase of the United Efforts exercise took place in Ukraine today. They were carried out in cooperation with the troops of the NATO countries. And, apparently, they became a response to the Caucasus-2020 exercises, which Russia is launching in its southern regions on the same days.
And NATO troops conducted exercises in the southern regions of Ukraine today. The scale of the “visual effects” indicated that it was a kind of display of power.
Today’s American aviation was literally the teacher in Ukraine’s sky. Nuclear bombers and giant tilt rotors of the United States Air Force once again flew over major cities. And the embassy of this country urged the residents of Kiev to wave.
It is true that initially the Ukrainians were considered as extras. The British Ministry of Defense made a Freudian slip by claiming that today its paratroopers landed in “Russia’s backyard.” Although it was actually the Nikolaev region.
“Strana” followed the teachings in which the Anglo-Americans were alone and understood their aims.
What is known about the exercises
The NATO-Ukraine exercise was prepared relatively quickly: it was publicly announced on July 17. In the previous days they were combatants practicing theory and tactics, and today they went on to perform combat training tasks. Vladimir Zelensky was poisoned to follow his progress towards the Nikolaev region.
According to the legend of the United Efforts 2020 exercise, told by the commander of the Ukrainian army, General Serhiy Naev, the enemy has committed armed aggression and is trying to break through the defenses of the Ukrainian troops in certain directions. The command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine decided to open fire in response. In this sense, the troops regrouped in the most threatening directions.
The exercises are attended by land, naval and air forces, airborne stormtroopers and special operations forces. There are more than 100 military units, some 12,000 people, and 700 units of weapons and military equipment.
Separately, the Ukrainian command reported that the communication, intelligence, acquisition and information exchange systems would be verified during the exercise. In addition, both among the bodies of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and among the forces and media of the NATO member countries. By the way, for the first time, units of the American and British armed forces, as well as instructors and military advisers from Germany, Lithuania and Poland, participated in such exercises.
It is true that in the Kazkaz-2020 exercises, in response to which United Efforts-2020 is being carried out, about 120 thousand military personnel, at least 500 tanks, 300 aircraft and hundreds of other military equipment should participate. That is, significantly more personnel and equipment.
But the exercises in Ukraine were again visited by US nuclear bombers, which was reported by the command of the Ukrainian Air Force (we will talk about them later).
In the morning, Volodymyr Zelensky went to see these exercises between Ukraine and NATO in the Nikolaev region.
“This is another sign of strong international support for Ukraine in protecting its territorial integrity and security in Europe. Our combat experience is becoming part of combat training programs, which is highly valued around the world. The participation in the exercises of representatives of our partner states is proof of this. ” Ze said in the exercise.
After the trip, the presidential press service published a great photo report.
At the same time, Zelensky’s website forgot to mention the whole bunch of incidents and scandals that occurred during United Efforts 2020.
United Efforts 2020 scandals
The problems with the military exercises began with a message from the National Police. News of the deaths of US military advisers near Kherson appeared on the siloviki website. This allegedly happened at the Oleshkovsky district military training ground – an artillery shell hit the bunker.
However, the police later denied the report. They claimed that the information posted on their own website was false. It was published by hacking the website of the National Police.
An ambiguous reaction was caused by the US bomber flights in the Black Sea, over the Odessa region.
In the afternoon, US B-52 Strstofortress strategic bombers marched from north to south of the Odessa region. They were accompanied by a pair of Su-27 fighters of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on duty, based at the Odessa Shkolny airfield.
Several NATO aircraft were flying over the Black Sea near the Crimean coast: three RC-135s, a P-8 Poseidon patrol, and a British Sentinel R1.
In the Danube Delta area, space was scanned by an AWACS E-3CF flying saucer, and a British Air Force Airbus KC2 Voyager, based on the long-range Airbus A-330, patrolled over Zatoka.
It was indicated that US bombers and other aircraft (eg converters) would fly over Ukrainian cities. During the day, Kyiv residents also managed to witness these exercises from their apartment windows (in the video below).
The US embassy even asked Ukrainians to “salute” as a sign of greeting.

Let us remember that the phenomenon of US nuclear missile carriers over Ukraine is not the first. But this practice continues, and it can hardly be considered positive, given that only a nuclear attack could make these planes work over our territory.
The following incident occurred at the Shirokiy Lan training ground in the Nikolaev region: the Javelin anti-tank missile system did not work.
“The javelin did not work, the rocket did not take off. Maybe this is an operator error, maybe something else, we have to solve it, I can’t say for sure now,” said Valery Zaluzhny, head of the Joint Operational Headquarters of the Armed Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine of the Sever operational command.
Note that this was supposed to be the first launch of the Javelin in Ukraine, and President Zelensky was supposed to see it. But the matter ended in a fiasco.
The scandals on the day of the active phase of the exercises ended with a statement from the UK Department of Defense. As indicated, the British troops were actively involved, that is, their paratroopers landed together with their Ukrainian colleagues in the same Nikolaev region.
Attention was drawn to how the British Ministry of Defense commented on this event. The material to which the link leads is signed: “In pictures: We landed in Russia’s backyard.”
However, the title was subsequently corrected on the British Ministry of Defense website. But on social media it remained as it was.
These exercises will continue in Ukraine until Friday, September 25, inclusive.
“Show of arrogance”
Social networks have already started commenting on today’s “show of force”.

Interestingly, the presence of NATO troops in Ukraine manifested itself so clearly after Volodymyr Zelenskyy from the UN rostrum called on the whole world to immediately unite in the face of the threat of World War III. And the nuclear destruction of the planet.
It is not entirely clear how US nuclear bomber flights over the Odessa region correlate with this. The B-52s could only practice one maneuver there: fire at Russian military targets in Crimea.
Let us remember that the United States itself considers Crimea to be Ukrainian territory. That is, the exercises are practicing nuclear attacks against Ukraine or the border regions of Russia.
Overall, no one really hides that Ukraine is a potential arena for NATO’s war with the Russian Federation. With all the consequences for the Ukrainians.
At the same time, as is easy to see, NATO is in no rush to fight for the Ukrainians in the Donbass. That is, it is the global conflict algorithm that is worked on during the exercises. In which Ukraine’s interests will not be taken into account at all, and its preservation as a state after her is generally questionable.
Another important conclusion of the situation is that it turns out that it is possible, even without being a member of NATO, to become a base for American military experiments. At the same time, not receive the benefits of membership in the Alliance, for example, guarantees of collective defense in case of attack. A very convenient situation for the United States is when there are no obligations to protect the territory, while, in fact, it is a future springboard to conduct hostilities.
From a political point of view, the US military flights over Ukraine are unlikely to score points for President Zelensky on the eve of the elections. Especially in Odessa itself. And indeed in the southeast.
And, apparently, the Office of the President understands this: In today’s announcement about the presence at the exercises, the issue of American bombers was diplomatically ignored.
That is, most likely, the demonstration was necessary precisely on the part of the Americans, who wanted to give the Russians a response to their Caucasus 2020 exercises, which will also affect the territory of Crimea. But the opinions of the Ukrainian side on such an obvious spectacle, judging by Zelensky’s silence, were not particularly requested.
