Security Service of Ukraine just before the arrest of the Russian “Wagnerites” in Belarus collected evidence on them and officially confirmed it in court.
This was announced on September 23 by “Ukrainska Pravda”, referring to the decision of the Kiev Court of Appeal and the documents that were available for publication. It is reported that the court of Ukraine arrested in absentia “Wagnerites” at the end of July, but none of these decisions have yet been made public.
At the same time, the public record appeared two decisions from meetings where militant lawyers tried to appeal the arrest… One of them contains the details of the case, confirming that the SBU was working on evidence against the “Wagnerites” before their arrest in Minsk.
The document refers to a native of the Russian village of Ilyinka, who has a son born in 2007. The journalists noted that one of the “Wagnerists” has such information Denis Kharitonov… We will remember, earlier he admitted his participation in the hostilities in Donbass.
The decision says that the mercenary was suspected July 29 – the day of the arrest of militants in Belarus. The following day, the suspect was placed on the international wanted list and arrested in absentia.
In court, the SBU referred to a series of evidence obtained between July 13 and 25.
These are, in particular, messages from the operating unit dated 07/13/2020 and 07/21/2020. They said that “since 2020, an illegal armed formation has been created on the territory of the Russian Federation.”
Among the tests there is also a protocol for the elimination of information from electronic information systems dated 07/24/2020, as well as an inspection protocol dated 07/25/2020. The latest document, according to the SBU, confirms Kharitonov’s involvement in the Donbass war on the side of the militants.
Among the evidence is the protocol for examining the suspect’s pages on social media. Its date is not specified.
Journalists also showed the “Protocol for the removal of information from electronic information systems” (24.07.2020), which the SBU officially referred to in court. (scroll down the page to view).
The document contains the name of the SBU investigator, who is mentioned in a public court decision. The document bears the stamp of the SBU’s Counterintelligence Department and is classified as “secret” (the text was later declassified).
The protocol says that the Security Service investigator took information from the email “[email protected]”, which is used by a person named “Sergei Petrovich”.
The SBU officer did this, relying on July 20 instructions and a July 17 court order.
Earlier, the Russian propaganda media reported that the militants were recruited at “[email protected]”. The Wagnerists themselves claimed that their curator introduced himself as “Sergei Petrovich.”
