The Belarusian riot police used water cannons to disperse the protesters who had gathered in Minsk for a spontaneous demonstration against the inauguration of Alexander Lukashenko. Radio Svaboda reports on this.
At the height of the protests, some 5,000 people gathered near the “Minsk – Hero City” stele in the center of the capital, blocking the road. After the use of water cannons, the path was cleared.
People were harshly detained by police, some of the protesters hiding in patios and tents.

Euroradio reports on Telegram that the protesters were poured with an unknown rusty liquid from two water cannons.
Residents of Belarus began attending the demonstrations after Lukashenka assumed the presidency. The inauguration took place in secret on the morning of September 23.
On the non-recognition of Lukashenko as legitimate president after his inauguration said Germany, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Denmark and the Czech Republic.
