Russia has imposed retaliatory sanctions against the European Union. They refer to the prohibition of entry into the territory of the Russian Federation for various officials.
This is stated in a statement on the website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation on Wednesday, September 23.
This is a response to the sanctions that the EU has imposed in defense of Ukraine. The Kremlin believes that Russia was punished “under implausible and sometimes absurd pretexts.”
“In response to the actions of the European Union, the Russian side made the decision to expand the reciprocal list of representatives of member states and EU institutions that are prohibited from entering the territory of the Russian Federation. The Russian Foreign Ministry has sent a note to the EU Delegation in Russia, informing about this step. “If the European Union continues the line of confrontation, we reserve the right to take appropriate measures,” the Kremlin said.
