Doctors have shown how the coronavirus affects the lungs
The comment on the photo says that with the coronavirus infection, the lungs appear to be covered with “frosted glass.”
The Ternopil Regional State Administration Health Department has released a photo showing how a person’s lungs are changing due to the impact on them from the COVID-19 coronavirus infection. Doctors posted the corresponding images on Tuesday, September 22, on the department’s Facebook page.
Explaining the image, the doctors compared the effect of the infection on the organ to “ground glass”, because the lungs do not look healthy.
The upper part of the published photo shows the lungs in a normal state, below – those affected by COVID-19.
Ternopil doctors also reported that if the disease progresses, this is due to an overreaction of the immune system to the virus.
“This creates inflammation, which can affect other organs,” he said in the message.
