President Volodymyr Zelenskyy criticized the work of the Ministry of Health in terms of paying higher salaries to doctors working in the context of the coronavirus epidemic.

This was said by the head of state during a conference call with government representatives to verify the implementation of measures that provide the medical industry with everything necessary to counter COVID-19 and update anti-epidemic actions, reports the press service of the president of Ukraine.

According to Health Minister Maxim Stepanov, the doctors will receive a pay raise at the end of September.

“The National Health Service signs agreements with 1,600 hospitals, agreements have already been signed with a third of the institutions”, – said Stepanova, adding that an additional 6 billion hryvnia was allocated to increase the salaries of doctors by the end of the year.

Zelensky demanded that the head of the Ministry of Health explain why the budget has not yet spent 100 million hryvnias for the purchase of artificial lung ventilation devices.

“Of the 2.9 billion hryvnias allocated for the supply of Ministry of Health laboratories and the purchase of personal protective equipment, only 514 million hryvnias have been spent. No equipment has yet been purchased for the admission departments of basic hospitals “Although 5.3 billion hryvnias of budget funds have been allocated for this. The first 120 of more than 200, which we promised, will be ready by October. There will be branches, but there will be no technicians in them.”– said the president.

Zelensky noted that the state budget should include money for the creation of a modern biological laboratory in Ukraine, where Ukrainian scientists will work on the development of vaccines.

Remember against the background of an increase in the number of coronavirus patients in the Kharkiv region, who began to enter the city hospital No. 25, 25 members of the medical staff wanted to leave this medical institution immediately.
