The European Union is ready to provide Ukraine with € 1.2 billion in macro-financial assistance, but for this it needs to cooperate constructively with the International Monetary Fund and meet the requirements related to the rule of law.
This was stated by the vice president of the European Commission, the high representative of the EU for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Josep Borrell, reports Interfax-Ukraine.
“We are also ready to provide 1.2 billion in macro-financial assistance to help solve the problems associated with the economic recession caused by the coronavirus pandemic, but for this Ukraine needs to interact constructively with the IMF and meet all requirements related to the strengthening the rule of law in Ukraine, “Borrell said during a joint press conference with Ukraine’s Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba.
Earlier, “Strana” wrote that Shmygal suggested to the IMF to start the mission in Ukraine online.
We also inform that the Ministry of Finance is counting on the second tranche of the IMF by the end of the year and says that there are no other scenarios.
