In early 2021, the coronavirus vaccine will be approved, and if widely used, it will take another year to completely stop the pandemic. This opinion was expressed by the American businessman and philanthropist Bill Gates.

The COVID-19 pandemic will not be endless; there is reason to believe that it will come to a complete halt in 2022. This was announced on September 20 on Fox News by Microsoft creator, American businessman, public figure and philanthropist Bill Gates.

According to him, the basis for optimism is the work of the major pharmaceutical companies, which attracted the best specialists to create the vaccine.

Gates expects the vaccine to be approved in early 2021, then the United States “will be back on track” next summer.

The further development of events, in his opinion, depends on how the United States will help the poorest countries to overcome the crisis. Only global suppression of the disease can ensure that the pandemic does not continually return to the United States, the businessman said.

In August, Gates suggested that rich countries would fight the coronavirus pandemic in the first half of next year with a “temporary” vaccine.

An outbreak of coronavirus infection began in late 2019 in China. On March 11, 2020, the World Health Organization declared the spread of the coronavirus a pandemic.

According to the World Health Organization, 31 companies developing coronavirus vaccines have already moved into human clinical trials. Within eight months of the start of the coronavirus pandemic, more than 200 potential vaccines for COVID-19 are being developed worldwide, said WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus.

The president of the United States, Donald Trump, allowed on September 15 that the vaccination campaign in the country began in mid-October. On September 18, he announced that all Americans will have access to the COVID-19 vaccine by April 2021. At the same time, the American vaccine has not yet been approved by the US Food and Drug Administration.

According to Johns Hopkins University, the United States ranks first in the world in the number of people infected by coronavirus (6.79 million), as well as in the number of deaths (199 thousand).
