It is especially interesting to see Kolos now: a young coach, an inexperienced team, but with incredible character and genuine emotions. This was enough to earn him the right to play in European competition and already go through a round in the Europa League. The next step is to leave for Croatia to visit “Rijeka”. In reality, “Kolos” plans to fly to the Balkans directly from Lvov, where Ruslan Kostyshin was supposed to distribute his forces so that both the base would rest and score points.
Unlike the previous two matches, Kostyshin changed his tactical scheme. If against “Lvov” and “Rijeka” Kovalivtsi played with three centrals, this time “Kolos” went to 4-1-4-1, which easily became 4-2-3-1, and sometimes even 4- 4 -2. So a pair of Gavrish – Maksimenko operated in the center of the defense, Nikita Kravchenko and Alexander Chernomorets were located on the flanks. In the center of the field, there was a Milko – Orihovsky – Kostyshin triangle. Usually the former was located between the defense line and the midfield, from time to time Orihovsky approached him. Kostyshin o played as an attacking midfielder, and occasionally as a second forward alongside Evgeny Seleznev. On the flanks of the midfield, instead of Antyukh and Smirny, who played in Greece, Morozko and Ilyin came out.
But “Rukh”, on the contrary, switched to a scheme with three centrals. Ahead of Bandura, who replaced Mysak, were Stamenkovich, Duts and Paramonov. Zastavny came from the right, the left flank was covered by the Slovenian Gliga, who joined the team recently. Martynyuk and Kopina acted in midfield, Ernest and Mysyk were supposed to escalate the situation on the flanks, 19-year-old Kuharevich acted in the vanguard.
We pointed out earlier that Kolos is not an experienced team, that they are just getting used to playing on two fronts and in the mode of constant flights. But “Rukh” made his debut in the elite division. Therefore, the difference in the class of equipment was noticed from the first minutes. In fact, already in the fourth, the Kovalivites took the lead. It is true that in this case I had to regret the absence of the VAR system in the match. The guests organized an attack with the left wing, a center to the center of the penalty area, where Evgeny Seleznev, offside, threw the ball to Morozko. Already scored on an empty network.
Having gained a lead on the scoreboard already at the start of the game, “Kolos” switched to the pace that suited him best. The center-backs did not hesitate to roll the ball for a long time in the center circle area, forcing the Lviv team to stretch to the other side of the field. However, “Rukh” has not yet learned to organize the pressure effectively – Kovalivtsy went on the attack quite easily thanks to several passes.
Usually they did not carry a significant threat to Bandura’s goal, but already in the 20th minute “Kolos” doubled their lead. Ilyin managed to enter the penalty area and take a throw-in on the goalkeeper’s line, where Morozko burst into the free zone and hit goalkeeper Rukh with his head for the second time. Winning was more than a weighty claim, considering that Fedyk’s players weren’t doing well in attack. A small fire in the “Kolos” penalty area broke out only at the end of the first half, when Volynets was playing at the start while shooting a banner, and Mysyk attacked with a second rhythm, but finished at the goalkeeper’s hands. Before now, “Kolos” could eliminate the question about the winner: Morozko shot from depth of field, Seleznev moved away from the defender and hit a rally from six meters, but missed the target.
In the second half, both Fedyk and Kostyshin released new players. If the replacement at Kolos was aimed at strengthening the defense, then Rukh switched to the tactic with four defenders. However, this had no effect. Lviv held the ball longer, but in the 45 minutes of the second half they never hit the mark. In fact, there were two or three hits in the direction of the frame. The penalty, which allowed to rejoice the defeat, already passed in the time compensated by the referee. And then Volynets, faced Kondrakov’s blow from the mark, but the defenders didn’t keep track of Rusin.
After the break, Kolos had nothing at all, save for several promising starts, which ended in the last transfer stage. But the Kovalivites did not need to force events. They held the lead confidently and guaranteed a good mood ahead of their historic trip to Croatia.
