“We have not lost the last three games to Shakhtar”

Zorya’s Head Coach Victor skripnik commented on the draw with Shakhtar (2: 2) in the UPL round 3 match:

– I think the game was a success for us. Two very good teams got together. The game unfolded on a collision course, there was no fear of playing football. Guys can get a big compliment on the passion they had today. We have not lost the last three games to Shakhtar. Of course, it affected that the championship began with two defeats, they really wanted to rehabilitate.

The fans that came to the stadium, I think, did not disappoint us. I hope there are more of them on each tour. It is also his credit that we had a successful game. Today the team showed a good result with a good rival. I hope that the desire and passion that my team had does not disappear, and that positive emotions help me to score points in future matches.

– How much does the presence of fans in the stadium encourage you?

– It is good that the real football environment returns. We just welcome this and wish there are more soccer fans in our arenas.

– In the starting lineup, you released Tsyganiks and left Grechkin in reserve. How justified is the choice?

– The match showed that we made the right decision. Andriy has more experience playing Shakhtar than Maxim. But we are happy to have these two players. That’s why there is competition, to fight for a place in the squad. Grechkin came in as a substitute and he also played well. All the guys who took to the field today showed what we expected of them.
