The Belarusian Interior Ministry said that in Brest, police fired a warning shot with a carbine to allegedly prevent an attack by protesters.

The law enforcement agency claims riot police used a flash noise cartridge.

In Brest, Belarus, security agents tried to disperse protesters with tear gas. Security agents approached the crowd of protesters and used pepper spray against them.

After that, the security forces began to detain the protesters. According to preliminary data, about 10 people were arrested. They were put into minibuses and taken in an unknown direction.

According to the Belarusian human rights organization Viasna, it is now known about arresting 11 protesters in Minsk, one of them has already been launched. Still two people were arrested in Grodno and four – in Mogilev. Among those detained in Mogilev are two journalists.

At approximately 2:35 p.m., Belarusian subscribers began to report problems in the mobile Internet work. Subsequently, the mobile operator “A1” confirmed that at the request of the authorities, it had limited the bandwidth of the network.

“Compliance with this requirement leads to a deterioration in the quality of the data transmission service or a temporary unavailability of the service,” explained the operator.

Protests and arrests in Grodno

Today there is also a protest in Grodno. The security forces disperse the protest rally and arrest it. In particular, riot police detained a woman who claimed to be pregnant.

The arrests began near “Nemiga”

Near the Nemiga metro station, the security forces began harshly detaining the participants of the march. In most cases, security forces detain people holding white, red and white banners. In the direction of Stela, police vehicles have already been launched.

The arrests also took place near the Royal Plaza business center. Several people were arrested there.

A protest action of many thousands has gathered today in Minsk. The protesters move in a large column through the streets of the capital towards the stele “Minsk – Hero City”, which is located not far from the residence of President Alexander Lukashenko.
