Uzbekistan’s Deputy Prime Minister Uktam Barnoev, who oversees the development of the republic’s agricultural and food sectors in government, has died of the coronavirus infection. He was 56 years old, according to the country’s media.
He passed away on Sunday, September 20, from complications caused by COVID-19.
It was learned that the official had contracted the coronavirus in late July. Barnoev was treated in one of the private clinics in Tashkent and later in Germany.
According to the latest data, 51,235 cases of coronavirus were detected in Uzbekistan, 429 people died and 47,271 recovered.
Recall that the 10th fatal case of COVID-19 was registered in the Armed Forces of Ukraine. An employee of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the Khmelnytsky region died from the coronavirus.
