A criminal case was opened against a Uman resident
A Uman resident posted destructive messages on social media calling for hatred and racial hatred, police said.
In Uman, on the eve of the Rosh Hashanah Jewish New Year celebration, law enforcement officials exposed an internet propagandist calling for inter-ethnic hatred against Jewish citizens. The National Police reported this the day before.
“A resident of Uman, on a personal page on one of the popular social networks, systematically posted destructive messages calling for racial hatred and hatred. He published discriminatory articles on Jewish nationality, where he humiliated the honor and dignity of his representatives, and called for the destruction of the citizens of this nation. ” the message says.
According to preliminary conclusions of experts, the materials published by the offender contain direct calls for genocide, the total or partial destruction of an ethnic or racial group of the population. Additionally, individual posts provoke the rise of ethnic hatred.
During a search at the propagandist’s place of residence, mobile devices and computer equipment were found with evidence of illegal activity.
In the framework of open criminal proceedings under the article on violation of the equality of citizens based on their race, nationality, religious beliefs, disability and other grounds (part 1 of article 161 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine), the Investigative actions continue to determine all the circumstances of the crime and bring all those responsible to justice.
It was previously reported that seven protocols for Hasidic pilgrims were drawn up at Uman. The disclosed violations are related to illegal arrival in Ukraine, quarantine violations and public order.
