“It is time to qualify for the Champions League.”

Kyiv Dynamo president Igor Surkis commented on the club’s media victory over Lvov in the third round match – 3: 1.

– Maybe the boys were already tuned in to Ghent?

– The recent game with AZ was difficult for us, first of all, emotionally and psychologically. And when a team loses with a score of 0: 4 against Kolos, it is difficult to tune in. But in the second half the players came out, who are still higher in level and class, they have been playing together for several years. Now we have to go further and prepare for the games on which our participation in the Champions League group stage depends.

– Can you say that the game with Ghent will be one of the most important at the beginning of the season?

– All qualifying matches are important. It is time to qualify for the Champions League. Naturally, these will be two decisive games for Ghent and for us. We shouldn’t treat these matches in a hacky way, we need to tune in to a tough fight. I think the chances are 50 to 50. Mister just builds a team, presents other requirements, criteria to play the game. Therefore, it is necessary to unite ourselves and, as in the duel with AZ, play with moral and volitional qualities from the first to the last minute and try to overcome this barrier if the team wants to play at the highest level, in the Champions League.
