For a Czech tennis player, this is the first victory over Elina Svitolina in four head-to-head matches. Vondrousova makes her debut in the final 1/2 of the Premier-5 series tournaments.

The Ukrainian fought today for her first semi-final at the competition’s WTA Premier-5 tournaments in Dubai in 2019.

In the ½ final, Marketa Vondrousova will play the winner of the day’s final between Karolina Pliskova and Eliza Mertens.
