The President of the United States of America, Donald Trump, received a package this week containing the poisonous substance ricin. However, the package did not reach the addressee, it was intercepted by law enforcement officers.

This was reported by the US television channel CNN, citing two law enforcement sources.

To confirm the presence of poison in the package, two tests were carried out. As explained on CNN, all mail from the White House is checked at a remote facility before being sent to the Trump administration.

The case is now handled by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Secret Service.

Be aware that ricin is a very toxic substance that terrorists often use. The poison can be used in the form of a powder, granules, vapor, or acid.

If it enters the body, the poison causes nausea, vomiting, and internal bleeding of the stomach and intestines, after which the liver, spleen, and kidneys fail, and then death as a result of the collapse of the circulatory system.

Remember that this is not the first time that an American president has been poisoned with ricin, one of the cases occurred in 2018.
