The Turkish Foreign Ministry summoned the Greek ambassador because of the offensive headline of a Greek newspaper, which concerned Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

As noted, Turkey’s Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu said his department harshly responded to Greek Ambassador Michael-Christos Diamessis for the Greek newspaper Democracy’s vulgar headline on Erdogan.
Cavusoglu said that it is natural for the media in both countries to criticize each other’s politicians, sometimes harshly, but freedom of the press does not mean freedom from insults.
Note that the Greek newspaper headline was written in Turkish: “Siktir git, Mr. Erdogan”, which can be translated as “Fuck Mr. Erdogan”. According to Wikipedia, this newspaper is a tabloid and does not have a significant circulation.
Some Turkish media outlets tweaked part of the newspaper’s controversial headline, including a cover image.
At the same time, the Greek Foreign Ministry also condemned the offending headline.
Recall that relations between Greece and Turkey have become strained on a number of issues, in particular, this refers to claims for hydrocarbon resources in the region, based on contradictory claims about the length of its continental shelves.
Also, tensions rose last month after Ankara sent the Oruc Reis to explore for gas and oil in disputed Mediterranean regions.
