Russian opposition leader Alexei Navalny, who is now receiving treatment at the German Charite clinic, shared how his recovery from the poisoning is going.
At first, after coming out of the coma, he did not recognize people and did not understand how to speak, the politician wrote on his Instagram.
«Every morning the doctor would come to see me and say, “Alexey, I brought a blackboard, let’s find out what word to write on it.” This led me to despair, because although I already understood in general what the doctor wanted, I did not understand where to get the words. Where do they appear in the head? Where to find a word and how to make it mean something? All of this was decidedly incomprehensible. However, I also did not know how to express my despair and therefore I simply kept silent. And I’m still describing this last stage, which I remember myself, ”Navalny shared the details.
The photo published by the politician shows that he goes down the stairs independently.
«Now I’m a guy whose legs shake when he goes upstairs, but thinks, “Oh, this is a ladder! Climb up it. Maybe we should find an elevator. “And I would have stood there watching before,” Navalny wrote.
The opponent also thanked the doctors at the Berlin Charite clinic for their help.
«They turned me from a “technically alive person” into someone who has every chance of becoming the highest way of being in modern society again, a person who can scroll quickly through Instagram and without hesitation understands where to put the likes ” he joked.
Recall that Alexei Navalny was poisoned in Russia with a nerve agent from the Novichok group. The same substance was poisoned in 2018 by a former GRU employee Sergei Skripal.
Navalny was hospitalized unconscious in Omsk on the morning of August 20. He fell ill during the flight from Tomsk to Moscow. The plane made an emergency landing at Omsk airport.
For two days, Russian doctors refused to acknowledge Navalny’s poisoning and did not give permission for his evacuation to Germany. On August 22, the plane with the politician arrived in Berlin. He is now at the Charite clinic in Berlin.
Three independent laboratories in Germany, France and Sweden have confirmed that Navalny was poisoned with a substance from the Novichok group.
Almost a month later, on September 14, it emerged that he was completely disconnected from the fan. And on September 15, Navalny published his first post on Instagram after the poisoning.
Political press secretary Kira Yarmysh said that after being discharged he would return to Russia.
