Makei recalled that according to article 2 of the UN Charter, it should not interfere with the internal competence of a state.
The reaction of the Minsk official will be appropriate and, together with his partners, he will take measures to protect national interests, said the head of the Foreign Ministry.
The resolution of the UN Human Rights Council on Belarus is interference in the internal affairs of Belarus and is contrary to the UN Charter. This was stated on Friday, September 18, by Belarusian Foreign Minister Vladimir Makei, the TASS news agency reported.
“The resolution is absolutely implausible. And I must say that a very dangerous precedent is being created for the United Nations,” he said.
Makei recalled that according to article 2 of the UN Charter, it should not interfere with the internal competence of this or that state.
“This resolution is an unequivocal interference in the internal affairs of Belarus, because some proposals provide for an assessment of the situation in Belarus, an assessment of the election results, an assessment of the behavior of various parties, etc., and so on” , explained the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Belarus.
According to him, the reaction of the Minsk official will be appropriate and he, together with his partners, will take measures to protect national interests.
Makei stressed that Minsk does not accept attempts to force the Belarusian authorities to enter into a dialogue with opponents, who, according to him, do not represent anyone.
At present, attempts to involve various international organizations to exert pressure on Belarus can be clearly observed, said the head of the Foreign Ministry.
“Unfortunately, from the lips of our European partners, we only hear criticism from the Belarusian authorities. They do not even bother to try to understand the real state of affairs, to objectively assess the situation. No matter how we urge to do so in the course of the telephone contacts and direct contacts “. unfortunately this does not happen with colleagues ”, he summarized.
