Ukrposhta sends employees on compulsory leave

The company wants to have a pool of workers in case someone from the state gets sick, says Ukrposhta boss Igor Smelyanskiy.

Ukrposhta sends some of his employees on compulsory leave to replace the sick. This was stated by the CEO of the company Igor Smelyansky on the air of KSE Business Transformation Week on Friday, September 18.

“Since no one knew how to work with this, I developed my own methodology. I forcibly send 20% of the workers in each department on vacation. And so when someone gets sick in the department, we send people out for testing and testing. quarantine, if necessary, we disinfect the unit and take people on vacation to work. And so on in all facilities “- said Smelyansky.

During the quarantine period, the company never violated the pension delivery schedule and even increased its performance indicators, added the head of the company.

“Ukrposhta provides pensions to 4 million pensioners, and this is a risk group. We have 65 thousand employees. Just before our conversation, another department reported a sick customer and potentially employees,” Smelyansky continued.

Even with a 20% staff reserve, it is very difficult to configure the work of 35 sorting facilities and 12 thousand departments; sometimes you have to send additional mobile departments, dress employees in special suits, summed up the post office general manager.

Remember that previously Ukrposhta paid record dividends. The company paid no dividends for three years in a row, and last year’s payouts were a decade-high.

It was also reported that Ukrposhta will launch 500 mobile branches. The mobile post offices will operate in six regions, according to the infrastructure ministry.
