Where will these billions come from? Marchenko did not say
Next year, two stages are planned to increase the minimum wage: starting in January and starting in July.
To increase the minimum wage next year, 41 billion hryvnia will be needed, said on Friday, September 18, from the Verkhovna Rada rostrum, Finance Minister Sergei Marchenko.
“From January 1, the minimum wage will increase from the current 5000 UAH to 6000 UAH, and from July 1 to 6500 UAH. In general, such an increase will cost the country 41 billion UAH. It is important that this affects the salaries of doctors, teachers and other public sector employees, “he said.
After the increase, the relationship between the minimum wage and the average wage will grow from 45 to 48%, said the minister.
As a reminder, as of September 1, the “minimum wage” was increased to 5000 UAH.
Earlier, Prime Minister Denis Shmygal called the goal of increasing the “minimum wage” – increasing budget revenue.
