The GeForce RTX 3080 was released, for the most part, on paper only. Around the world, thousands of people lined up at retail stores, waiting for the most powerful gaming graphics card ever. Many of them succeeded, which cannot be said for those who decided to buy a new product online. GeForce RTX 3080 stock in most online stores sold out in seconds, as if they didn’t exist at all.
Hopefully this situation will turn into a wave of outrage from gamers and enthusiasts, who immediately began writing angry reviews on Nvidia’s social media pages. The chipmaker’s press service was quick to issue an official response, saying the company is doing everything possible to ensure that video cards fall into the hands of ordinary gamers and not dealers. Let’s hope Nvidia fixes the GeForce RTX 3080 shortage soon.

This morning we saw unprecedented demand for the GeForce RTX 3080 in retail stores around the world, including the Nvidia online store. At 6am PT, we tried to open the Nvidia store. Despite the preparation, the Nvidia store was overwhelmed with traffic and an error occurred. We were able to resolve the issues and sales began to register normally.
We do our best to stop bots on the Nvidia store, including manually reviewing orders so that these cards end up in the hands of legitimate customers.
As of 6 a.m. PST, more than 50 major retailers around the world were in stock. Our team and partners are shipping more RTX 3080 cards to retail stores every day.
We apologize to our customers for what happened this morning.
