The dispatchers discussed the possibility of sending the aircraft to an alternate airfield due to bad weather, as well as sending the plane for a spin.

The Interstate Aviation Committee released a transcript of conversations between the pilots of the Polish “plane number 1” with President Lech Kaczynski and dispatchers at Smolensk airport shortly before the plane crash.

Judging from the negotiations, on the day of the accident in the Severny airfield area, visibility was low and dispatchers agreed to alternate airfields for the aircraft. Initially, Vnukovo was considered among the alternative airfields, “because we have to find the customs and the border.” Then dispatchers started arguing about Minsk and Vitebsk.

From the decryption, it is deduced that the pilots were informed about the weather conditions and the need to depart for an alternative airfield.

“First of all, we told him to be ready to go as a spare, to clarify how much fuel he has …”, says the flight director.

To which the operative on duty responds: “I think the main center will fix it, I said there is no weather in Smolensk, but they will fix it there.”

At the same time, the “ground” requests the crew to go to an alternate airfield.

“1-0-1 after the test, do you have enough fuel for a spare?” – stems from negotiations.

To which the crew gives an affirmative answer.

At the same time, the intention of the crew to descend to the height of the decision is discussed on the “ground”.

“… means make a control approach, the commander’s decision, make a control approach up to a decision-making height of 100 meters, go out, prepare Minsk, Vitebsk for a spare, ask them,” continues from the negotiations.

Ten minutes later, the pilots confirmed they were ready to turn around when they reached an altitude of 100 meters.

However, after another four minutes, the crew reports the landing gear and the flap, and the dispatcher reports that the runway is clear.

Two minutes later, the flight director asks the crew for a turn three times. However, the crew is no longer responding.

On the eve of the Polish Attorney General’s Office, he accused Russian air traffic controllers of deliberately causing a plane crash and demanded that Russia extradite them.

Recall that the Tu-154 plane of Polish President Lech Kaczynski in 2010 crashed while landing at Smolensk-Severny airport. On board there were 96 people flying to the funeral events in Katyn. All died.

It was previously reported that the results of the British laboratory’s investigation confirmed the conclusions of the Polish subcommittee investigating the causes of the accident of the presidential Tu-154, according to which the destruction of the plane caused the explosions.
