The representative of the Russian Federation, Boris Gryzlov, in the trilateral contact group negotiations to resolve the situation in Donbass, said that the districts of the Donetsk and Lugansk regions that are not controlled by Kiev are “territories belonging to ORDLO “said Leonid Kravchuk, head of the Ukrainian delegation to the TCG. He said he had asked Gryzlov to apologize for the “inaccuracy.”

During the negotiations of the trilateral contact group to resolve the situation in Donbass, the representative of the Russian Federation Boris Gryzlov was forced to say that certain areas of the Donetsk and Lugansk regions are the territory of Ukraine, not controlled by Kiev.

The head of the TCG Ukrainian delegation, the first president of Ukraine, Leonid Kravchuk, said this on the air of channel Ukraine 24 on the night of September 16.

“Gryzlov, responding to the question of the members of the videoconference, addressed the Ukrainian delegations who, they say, are asking questions, but these are CADLO questions, because this is the territory that belongs to CADLO. Of course, I could not avoid reacting. I asked Gryzlov to apologize for this inaccuracy, because this is Ukraine’s territory, it is recognized by all international documents, by the way, by the President of the Russian Federation. Mr. Gryzlov was finally forced to say that he meant that this is a territory that is not controlled by Ukraine. I say: here each word has weight, temporarily uncontrollable. But this is not the territory of ORDLO, but the territory of Ukraine, “Kravchuk said.

According to him, the question was dropped after discussion and the parties “reached a common point of view.”

“We cannot fail to answer any acute questions that arise, but the reaction must be documented and objective,” Kravchuk added.

In 2014, immediately after the annexation of Crimea, Russia launched an armed aggression in eastern Ukraine. The fighting is between the Armed Forces of Ukraine, on the one hand, and the Russian army and the Russian-backed militants who control parts of the Donetsk and Lugansk regions, on the other. The Russian Federation does not officially recognize its invasion of Ukraine, despite the facts and evidence presented by Ukraine.

Negotiations on the resolution of the conflict are taking place within the framework of the trilateral contact group in Minsk (Ukraine – OSCE – Russia) and the Normandy Four (Ukraine – Germany – France – Russia).

Ukraine’s first president, Kravchuk, has led the Ukrainian delegation to the TCG since July 30.
