Zelenskiy offers Kurz a new look at the construction of the Russian gas pipeline
The Ukrainian president asked the Austrian leader to look at this project from the point of view of Ukraine, as well as from the point of view of the security of the whole of Europe.
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy called on the Austrian authorities to consider the construction of the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline from the point of view of energy security, in particular across Europe. He said this during a press conference on Tuesday, September 15, after negotiations with the Federal Chancellor of the Republic of Austria, Sebastian Kurz in Vienna, the OP’s press service reported.
Responding to questions from media representatives, Zelensky noted that this is not just Ukraine’s energy security.
“At the same time, everyone understands that there are serious challenges due to Nord Stream 2. I think in the future this will be an energy security issue for the whole of Europe,” Zelensky said.
It asked Austria to take into account Ukraine’s position when considering the Nord Stream 2 project. It also asked Austria to consider the Nord Stream issue from Ukraine’s point of view.
It was previously reported that Austrian President Alexander van der Bellen, after meeting with Zelensky, opposed the closure of SP-2.
Let us remember that today Zelensky began his first visit abroad since the beginning of the pandemic. He went to Vienna.
