Two military men flew on a banner
The colonel and the press secretary were injured and admitted to the Toretsk hospital.
In the area of Shumy village, Donetsk region, two Ukrainian soldiers were injured on Tuesday, September 15, as a result of the explosion of a grenade mounted on a banner, the press center of the JFO headquarters reported.
It is observed that Colonel O. Appolonov and the press secretary of one of the V. Zalevsky brigades flew with an RGD-5 grenade.
“Both wounded were taken to Toretsk hospital, their condition is stable and satisfactory,” the message says.
It is observed that the military were in the area for the purpose of carrying out a standard verification of the situation. A full investigation of this event and all its circumstances is underway.
“Based on the information we have at this minute, there is no confirmation that this incident was not accidental,” the headquarters said.
They also said that all information was brought to the attention of the OSCE Special Monitoring Mission in its entirety.
By the way, this is the second such incident in one day. It was previously reported that a Ukrainian soldier was blown up by an unknown explosive device near Vodyanoye. He received moderate injuries and was hospitalized.
Recall that before the separatists fired at the Armed Forces of Ukraine near Avdiivka and Marinka. The Ukrainian army discovered an enemy UAV that crossed the line of contact. The drone was suppressed by electronic warfare.
