Explosion near Kiev: a named preliminary reason

According to preliminary data, the cause of the accident on the main gas pipeline near the Chabany region of Kiev was depressurization. This was announced on Tuesday, September 15, by the press service of the regional police.

Law enforcement officers said that the police received a message about explosions and the smell of gas near the village of Chabany, Kiev-Svyatoshinsky district, early in the evening.

A patrol police response group, an investigation and operational group from the local police department, dog handlers, explosives technicians, a forensic laboratory, the leadership of the Kiev region police, rescuers, and emergency services they worked on the spot.

In one hour, the emergency service specialists eliminated the gas leak. There are no injuries or injuries. The electricity supply to the settlements has been restored.

“The preliminary cause of the accident is the depressurization of the gas pipeline,” says the message.

Now the police provide security to the site and maintain public safety and order at the site.

On this fact, the investigators started a criminal proceeding under the article on damage to objects of oil pipelines, gas pipelines and oil pipelines (article 292) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.

It should be noted that a series of examinations will be appointed, which will establish the reasons and circumstances that led to the depressurization of the gas pipeline.

Recall that on the night of September 15, a powerful explosion thundered in Chabany near Kiev. Power was cut off in nearby settlements.
