Deputy Prime Minister Oleksiy Reznikov repeated the false accusations against “Strana” that our publication allegedly edited the agreed text of an interview with Vitold Fokin, deputy head of the Ukraine delegation to the Trilateral Contact Group.
Reznikov made this statement on the air of the “Freedom of Expression” program on ICTV on Monday.
Fokin in an interview with “Strana” said that on both sides “many crimes have been committed that ultimately must be investigated and let the perpetrators be punished. But today, to end the war and save the lives of soldiers and commanders, my position must be declared a general amnesty, to hold elections, to resolve the issue of the special status of certain regions, and best of all, Donbass ”.
Reznikov said that in an agreed interview it was stated that “it is necessary to accept the amnesty, except for those who have blood on their hands.”
“This” respected “edition crossed out their entire answer and wrote as they wanted. So, we had a serious conversation with Vitold Pavlovich, he honestly admitted, said that” friends, I’ve been retired for 25 years, I was out of the media field, I perceive the world of a bit differently “… We draw conclusions from this. I will tell you for sure that all members of the Ukrainian delegation take a pro-Ukrainian position,” Reznikov said.
Reznikov is not the first to cite this forgery. He repeated it after a member of the Ukrainian delegation to TCG Sergey Garmash.
At the same time, Strana’s editor-in-chief Igor Guzhva said that the allegations against our publication were absolutely false.
“A member of the TCG Ukrainian delegation, Serhiy Garmash, spread false information that Strana allegedly removed phrases from the agreed text of the interview with Vitold Fokin.
For example, Garmash says that in the text of the interview, which Fokin agreed to, regarding the amnesty, there was a phrase “except those who have blood on their hands up to the elbows”, which Strana allegedly later removed from publication.
Is a lie. The “Strana” journalist Denis Rafalsky received the file with the agreed text of the interview on Saturday, August 29, to his email at 10.10.
The phrase about amnesty sounds the same as in the published interview text.
“Both on the other hand, many crimes were committed, which ultimately must be investigated, and the perpetrators be punished. But today, to end the war and save the lives of soldiers and commanders, my position is to declare a general amnesty. hold elections, resolve the issue of the special status of certain regions and, best of all, the entire Donbass. “
Furthermore, in the same interview, Fokine repeats the same idea about a general amnesty without reservation:
“It is in a conversation with the Russian side and the representatives of Donbass that we must achieve mutual concessions. If we agree to their demand for a general amnesty, I think they will meet us halfway through and refuse to change the Constitution for a special status “.
Several days have passed since the interview. And Fokin never publicly denied what was posted on our website.
On the contrary, when commenting on the accusations against him (including the amnesty), he confirmed that he was in the same situation that was stated in the interview.
Thus, in a comment to Channel 5, Fokin said that in an interview with Strana he had cited the provisions of the Minsk agreements.
“If the war supporters are furious, then my words have come to the right place. We need to bring peace to Ukraine, which we are going to do. I mean, Leonid Makarovich Kravchuk and myself,” Fokin said.
All this suggests that Garmash spread false information to discredit our publication, “said Igor Guzhva.
