According to the Deputy Attorney General of Ukraine Gunduz Mamedov, the aggression of the Russian Federation continues, which means that the amount of losses in connection with the occupation of Crimea and part of Donbass is also growing.
The occupation of the Crimean peninsula by Russia caused losses to Ukraine worth 1 trillion UAH. Ukraine’s Deputy Attorney General Gunduz Mammadov said this in an interview with Radio Svoboda, published on September 13.
“According to preliminary data from the materials of the criminal proceedings, the losses in Crimea only reach one trillion hryvnias. Obviously, this is not a fixed amount, because the aggression of the Russian Federation continues, as well as the violations of rights of citizens in the occupied territories of the peninsula and Donbass, “said Mammadov.
Russia annexed Crimea after illegal referendum, which took place on March 16, 2014… Ukraine and most of the countries of the world do not recognize the accession of the peninsula to the Russian Federation. At the moment, there is a checkpoint regime between mainland Ukraine and Crimea, and Kiev does not de facto control the peninsula.
Immediately after the annexation of Crimea, Russia launched an armed aggression in eastern Ukraine. The fighting is between the Armed Forces of Ukraine, on the one hand, and the Russian army and the Russian-backed militants who control parts of the Donetsk and Lugansk regions, on the other. The Russian Federation does not officially recognize its invasion of Ukraine, despite the facts and evidence presented by Ukraine.
