Traffic accident with six victims near Kiev: the driver was arrested

The man who was driving the truck was sent by the court to a remand center for two months without the right to pay bail.

The driver, who committed a fatal accident with six deaths in the Kiev region, was chosen as a preventive measure in the form of arrest. This was announced on Saturday September 12 by the press service of the regional police.

“Today, September 12, the Boryspil City District Court granted the request of the law enforcement officers and chose a preventive measure against the driver: detention for 60 days without the right to pay bail,” the message says.

Police detained a 21-year-old DAF truck driver who caused an accident with three vehicles on the Kiev-Kharkiv highway, killing six people.

He was informed of suspicions under the article on violation of safety regulations of traffic or transport operation (part 3 of article 286) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.

Let us remind you that on September 11, two trucks, a minibus and a passenger car collided on the Kiev – Kharkov – Dolzhansky highway. As a result of the traffic accident, five people died and some 20 were injured. Later, another person died from the injuries.
