For the first match at the renovated stadium in Kovalevka, Kolos head coach Ruslan Kostyshin made some changes to the starting lineup compared to the first round. After a verified pass from Kravchenko’s right edge in the knockdown, Lysenko hit his head beautifully and accurately on Penkov. In five minutes Lysenko could have made a double, but this time the ball hit the post. Soon the ball went back into the Lvov goal net, but referee Kozik fixed the play with Antyukh’s hand and showed the Kolos player a yellow card.
The second half had only just begun when the public attended the first shot at the new stadium. Lysenko made a foray into the opponent’s goal and, following his long-range shot, the ball bounced off Makhmutovich into Lvov’s goal. For Lysenko, it was the UPL’s third double, including his second with Kolos.
The excitement in the stadium stands was sparked by a long-range shot from Lysenko, when the ball fell in an arc behind the goal bar. Giorgi Tsetsadze, trying to turn the tide of the fight, made a triple substitution, releasing two Brazilians as well as another UPL rookie Mikhobi. However, Bogunov could have distinguished himself, who in the fall did not have time to close the Borzenko broadcast.
The home team also continued to create scoring chances, and Kostyshin Jr., after Penkov’s mistake, overcame the unprotected goal. But the experienced Gavrish did not miss his chance and closed off Bogdanov’s corner kick. Meanwhile, both coaches continued to make substitutions and made regular debut in the rosters of both teams: Romanchuk – in Lvov and Isayenko – in Kolos, and for Romanchuk it was also a debut at UPL.
Among the game’s pranksters, Klimenchuk, who took a dangerous free kick, could have distinguished himself, but Volynets managed to keep his goal “clean” in this game, just like after Borzenko’s shot. But towards the end of the match, Isayenko took advantage of the mistakes made by Lvov’s defenders and goalkeeper and shot accurately under the bar, scoring his first Premier League goal (in Game 3).
Thus, Kolos’ first match at the renovated stadium ended with a landslide victory for the home team. This was the first major victory for Kovalevka’s team in meetings with Lvov. Overall, Kolos repeated his biggest UPL victory (previously he won Dnipro-1 with the same score), and Kovalevsky club repeated the club’s record, scoring 4 goals per game.
