Zelensky commented on the Normandy meeting

Participants in the Berlin meeting were not able to discuss all the issues, but agreed to continue the regime of silence.

The main achievement of the Norman meeting of political advisers in Berlin was the decision to prolong the silence in Donbas. At the same time, those attending this meeting did not discuss all the issues. This was announced by President Vladimir Zelensky at a briefing in Odessa on Saturday, September 12.

He noted that the advisers’ meetings mean a summit of the Normandy format leaders will also be planned.

“They did not discuss everything and did not put an end to many issues, so there will be another meeting of advisers. The most important solution that exists today is the observance and extension of the silence regime,” Zelensky said.

He added that he was not 100% satisfied with the silence regime, as it was violated and Ukraine suffered losses in combat.

“But if we move towards the implementation of the Minsk accords, if we move towards peace in the east of our country, the first and most important issue is the observance of the regime of silence,” Zelensky added. He noted that there has never been such a long silence.

As reported, we will recall that the day before in Berlin the meeting of political advisers to the leaders of “Normandy” ended. As a result, the Office of the President said that the participants in the negotiations heard from Kiev on the issue of maintaining the truce in Donbass.

Today a new Normandy meeting was announced in the Office of the President, which will take place in a few weeks.
