Ukraine’s Attorney General Irina Venediktova said Ukraine is continuing its own investigation into the “Derkach tapes” case and that the authenticity of the audio files is now being examined.
She said this on the air of the talk show “Savik Shuster’s Free Speech”.
“Now the investigation of the Derkach tapes continues. And again, examinations: the tapes are mounted, it is possible to identify the voices, all this is happening. The investigation continues, we are trying not to miss investigative opportunities. We are awaiting the results of the investigation, “he said.
In addition, Venediktova also said that the researchers “would reach their own conclusions”, without being guided by the results of the US investigation. It hinted at new problems for Poroshenko, while neither Shuster nor Venediktova named the former president.
“There are several articles that are incriminated in the ratings and are included in the ERDR. But even so, my personal impression today, if we talk about corruption, it will be political corruption. To prove that there was treason, again, it must be verified. It is not enough with declare it without support. We need to go to the criminal corpus and classify it by elements, “he said.
However, in this case, Venediktova argues, law enforcement officers should not be public relations:
“It seems to me that law enforcement agencies have no right to exaggerate. The investigation continues, we are trying not to miss investigative opportunities, we are awaiting the results of the investigation … Our investigation continues, we will reach our own conclusions,” he said.

We recall, on July 9, that the People’s Deputy Andriy Derkach, who had previously published the scandalous recordings of telephone conversations between former President Petro Poroshenko and former US Vice President Joe Biden, announced a new part of them at a press conference.
“Strana” wrote that according to one version, the former attorney general Lutsenko gave Derkach to Derkach. We also wrote that the oligarch Igor Kolomoisky could be behind the release of the records.
We also said that on September 10, the US authorities introduced new sanctions for interference in the US presidential elections. The restrictions apply to three citizens of the Russian Federation and one Ukrainian – People’s Deputy Andrei Derkach. The popular deputy himself called it “revenge of the democrats.”
