Svetlana Tikhanovskaya, leader of the Belarusian opposition
Six of the seven members of the presidium of the Council cannot fulfill their functions on the territory of Belarus.
Belarusian opposition leader Svetlana Tikhanovskaya said there is a possibility of re-election of members of the Presidium of the Coordination Council. This is what he affirms in his interview with the portal Tut.by, published on Friday, September 11.
“Few people have remained close to the presidium, but no one is requesting the resignation of the members of the Coordination Council. We are discussing how we will work more. Perhaps a new presidium will be elected,” said the opponent.
Let us remind you that the current Coordination Council for the transfer of power in Belarus was established in mid-August. However, only one of the seven members of the Council’s presidium remains at large and in the republic so far: the writer and Nobel Prize winner Svetlana Aleksievich.
The rest were arrested, left the republic under pressure, or were driven out of the country against their will.
Lithuania recognized Tikhanovskaya as “elected leader”
