A member of the Ukrainian delegation, a Ukrainian representative in the TCG political subgroup in Minsk, Andriy Kostin, said this after talks between advisers to the leaders of the Normandy Four in Berlin, Interfax-Ukraine reports.
«Today (September 11-ed) at the meeting it was noted that the parliament is considering a bill to amend the decree on the appointment of local elections, which provides for a different version of clause 4 regarding which there is so much speculation of high profile, ”Kostin said.
He believes that the proposed version is fully consistent with the Minsk package of measures.
«As the representative of the delegation, I reaffirm my commitment to the Minsk agreements. Of course, both we and the Ukrainian society have many questions about the Minsk agreements, but we and our president believe that they are the only platform to continue the resolution process, ”Kostin said.
According to RBC-Ukraine, the head of the Ukrainian delegation in Berlin, the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for the Reintegration of the Occupied Territories, Oleksiy Reznikov, said that the Ukrainian side did not promise to review the resolution on holding local elections.
According to him, a proposal to amend the resolution on local elections was registered in parliament at the end of July, and Russian representatives were informed about it.
«They are informed that there is an initiative of the Ukrainian deputies, an independent initiative, which is not related to the position of anyone, ”Reznikov said.
Also after the meeting, the representative of the Russian Federation, Dmitry Kozak, said that during the negotiations the parties agreed that in the near future the Verkhovna Rada would consider a draft resolution that would modify the resolution on local elections.
Recall that at the TCG meeting on August 19, Leonid Kravchuk promised to ask the Verkhovna Rada to reconsider the resolution, which, according to representatives of ORDLO, violates the Minsk agreements.
This is the fourth paragraph of the resolution, which says that the elections in occupied Donbass and annexed Crimea will be named only after the end of the Russian aggression, the withdrawal of troops and equipment and the end of full reintegration.
