Coronavirus mortality has decreased in Ukraine

In Ukraine, the number of deaths among COVID-19 patients decreased 1.4 times compared to the previous week. In total, 3,076 deaths from COVID-19 were recorded in the country.

This was reported by the press service of the Center for Public Health.

Reportedly, the death rate is currently 8.1 per 100,000 population. The average death rate in Ukraine is 2.1%. In the structure by sex and age of the deceased, men predominated: 1,660 (54.0%) and people aged 50 years or more (92.0%).

The death rate, which is above the average for Ukraine, is recorded in:

  • Kirovograd region (5.4%),
  • Transcarpathic region (3.3%),
  • Lviv region – (2.8%),
  • Chernivtsi region (2.6%),
  • Kherson region (2.4%),
  • Nikolaev region – (2.4%),
  • Poltava region (2.3%),
  • Ivano-Frankivsk region (2.3%)
  • Dnipropetrovsk region – (2.3%)

It is observed that 80.6% of the deceased had cardiovascular diseases, diabetes mellitus, neoplasms, kidney, liver, lung, neurological diseases and the like. 52.1% of the deceased with concomitant pathology presented various diseases: cardiovascular and diabetes mellitus, immunodeficiency or obesity.

93% of the deceased are people over 50 with comorbidities.

Among those killed with COVID-19, there were 104 medical workers from 22 regions of the country. Mortality among physicians was 0.8%.

Recall that as of September 11, a strong increase in new cases of coronavirus was detected in Ukraine, 3144 people were infected per day.
