The United States has updated sanctions for cyberattacks and interference in US elections. One Ukrainian and three Russians fell under the sanctions.

This was reported by the press service of the United States Department of the Treasury.

The non-fractional deputy of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Andriy Derkach was blacklisted. He previously posted recordings of conversations between alleged former US Vice President Joe Biden and Ukraine’s fifth President Petro Poroshenko.

“Corncrake for more than ten years he was an active Russian agent with close ties to the Russian special services. Derkach participated, sponsored, withheld or participated directly or indirectly in foreign interference in an attempt to undermine the upcoming 2020 United States presidential election, “the statement said.

The citizens of Russia Anton Andreev, Daria Aslanova and Artem Lifshits were also subject to the sanctions.

“The United States will continue to use all the tools at its disposal to counter Russian disinformation campaigns and maintain the integrity of our electoral system,” said US Secretary of the Treasury Stephen Mnuchin.

Recall that on July 15, the United States imposed sanctions on three individuals and five legal entities associated with businessman Yevgeny Prigozhin, close to the president of Russia.

In addition, the United States has expanded the list of sanctions against Russia. The US Treasury Department imposed sanctions against eight individuals and one organization in response to Russia’s ongoing aggression against Ukraine and an attempt to occupy Crimea.
