Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Ruslan Khomchak has contracted the COVID-19 coronavirus. Today he is in self-isolation.
The head of the public relations department of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Bohdan Senik, said this in a comment to RBC-Ukraine.
According to him, Khomchak has been in isolation for two weeks.
“His health is satisfactory,” Senik added.
We will recall, earlier, the spokesman for the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, Dmitry Razumkov, said that since the beginning of the epidemic, more than 20 parliamentarians have been sick with coronavirus.
In early September it became known that the coronavirus was detected in Patriarch Filaret. The information was confirmed by the press service of the Kiev Patriarchate, a positive result for COVID-19 was found during routine tests. It is noteworthy that initially the press service in every possible way denied information about Filaret’s disease, calling it false.
During the last day, September 9, almost 2.6 thousand more people fell ill in Ukraine. Most of the infections are found in the Kharkiv, Kiev, Ternopil and Lviv regions. During the day, 44 COVID-19 patients died and 1,174 recovered.
Since the beginning of the pandemic, 145,612 cases of COVID-19 have been recorded in Ukraine with 3,023 deaths.
