“Before the start of the project, ZAZ went through a large-scale modernization to fully comply with Groupe Renault’s international quality standards. The Alliance Production Way system has been deployed at the plant and will be strictly controlled to provide the Ukrainian market with cars of international quality level, ”said Tariel Vasadze, businessman of the Ukravto corporation, which includes ZAZ.

“This project will create new jobs and contribute to the development of the national automotive industry. The localized assembly allows us to be very close to our customers and adapt the offer and the service to the needs of the market, ”said Nikolay Evdokimenko, Chairman of the Board of Directors of ZAZ.

The general director of Groupe Renault Export in the Eurasia region, Max Missana, in turn, noted that the Ukrainian market has high potential for the company due to its location and the growing interest in new cars.

“The Renault Group has a strong position in Ukraine. This project means that we and our partners trust that brands Made in Ukraine it will be at the same quality level as the products of other Groupe Renault factories ”, added Missana.

As reported, in March 2020, ZAZ announced the launch of a test batch of cars for potential Renault group partners. Local media reported that they are talking about three LADA models: Vesta, Xray and Largus.

In July, it was reported that ZAZ received vehicle kits from AvtoVAZ JSC for assembling Lada Largus cars.

AvtoVAZ is part of the Renault group. LADA is a Groupe Renault brand since 2017, together with the Renault, Dacia, RSM and Alpine brands.

In 2019, 151 Lanos Cargo light commercial vehicles were produced in Zaporozhye and 15 ZAZ С70 101 vehicles were made to order, which are special vehicles to perform the functions of a mobile mobile office.

According to the Ukravtoprom Association, in 2019 Ukraine used only 2% of its own car production capacity.
