Infrastructure Minister Vladislav Krikliy said the Delfi tanker was taken off Dolphin Beach in Odessa.

He wrote about this on his Facebook.

«Delfi left the beach of the dolphins. We will not get bored, ”said the minister.

On November 20, 2019, the Delfi tanker noted that it was sinking with an inoperative engine. On November 22, a tanker truck ran aground near Dolphin Beach in Odessa. The crew members on board were evacuated by rescuers.

The tanker’s hull was damaged in a collision with a breakwater. The level of contamination from the oil products spilled from the tanker exceeded the norm by 157 times.

After the wreck, there were several fuel spills from the tanker. Therefore, swimming in the sea near the tanker was prohibited.

By March 31, 2020, the shipowner had to take steps to lift and remove the sunken tanker from the water area of the Odessa Seaport. On April 1, the attorney general took control of the case.

The active lifting phase of the ship began on July 18, 2020.

On August 26, after several unsuccessful attempts, the tanker was finally put on the keel.
