The leader of the Russian opposition, Alexei Navalny, has been poisoned with a new and more dangerous type of Novichok. He was supposed to die on the plane.

It is reported in the Die Zeit edition.

Navalny survived only thanks to the pilot, who immediately decided to land the plane, and the doctors who quickly injected him with atropine.

According to the newspaper, only the special services of the Russian Federation were able to carry out the operation using the latest poison. It simply could not be synthesized by common criminals, and such a serious operation by any foreign special service on the territory of the Russian Federation seems “unthinkable” under the conditions in which the Russian opponent is constantly being monitored.

“This leaves only one plausible conclusion: it was the Kremlin that gave the order to remove the unwanted politician,” the message says.

German authorities believe that one of the officers who followed Navalny may have put poison on the surface of the cup from which the opponent drank tea, or sprayed poison on the finished tea.

Recall, Alexey Navalny was hospitalized in Omsk on the morning of August 20 in an unconscious state. He fell ill during the flight from Tomsk to Moscow. The plane made an emergency landing at Omsk airport.

It was previously reported that Germany gave the results of Navalny’s samples to experts at the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons.

Additionally, French President Emmanuel Macron and British Prime Minister Boris Johnson demanded that Russia explain how Alexei Navalny was poisoned.
