State employees will receive an additional 50 billion hryvnia
In the draft state budget for 2021, it is planned to provide additional expenses in the amount of 47 billion hryvnia. The money will be used to increase public sector wages.
Deputy Finance Minister Roman Ermolichev said this during a meeting with representatives of trade unions and employers, representatives of the Ministry of Economy and the Ministry of Social Policy, reports the press service of the Ministry of Finance.
“The additional costs amount to around 47 billion hryvnia. In fact, from January 1, 2021, the minimum wage will be increased to 6 thousand hryvnia and, from July 1, 2021, to 6.5 One thousand hryvnia, “he said.
According to him, when calculating the preliminary draft budget for 2021, it is expected to maintain the relationship between the size of the official salary of an employee of tariff category I of the ETS and the minimum salary, which has been developed in the current year.
Yermolichev noted that the state budget has not yet been finally formed. “Consultations are ongoing. At the same time, we must take into account the unstable economic situation of the country. So, it is assumed that the state budget deficit will be 6% in 2021, 4.5% in 2022 and 3% in 2023. This year is the level of 7.5% of GDP, “he said.
As previously reported by RBC-Ukraine, the Cabinet of Ministers on August 26 increased the salary (tariff rate) of an employee of the first tariff category from 2,102 UAH to 2,225 UAH. The state employee rate will increase as of September 1, 2020.
In addition, the Ministry of Economy proposes to increase the rate of an employee of the first salary category on January 1, 2021 to 2,670 UAH, and from July 1, 2021 to 2,893 UAH. This increase is justified by plans to increase the minimum wage from January 1, 2021 to 6,000 UAH and from July 1, 2021 to 6,500 UAH.
