Films must comply with at least two of the four Academy Rules. They refer to minorities and gender equality.

Movies for the Oscars will be selected in accordance with the new rules. This was reported on the official website of the American Film Academy of Arts.

A number of new rules have been introduced in the rules for the selection of tapes applying for the Best Picture award. It should be noted that they will begin operating in 2024.

An image in this category must meet at least two of the four criteria. Therefore, one of the main actors, or interpreters of the supporting role, must be a representative of racial or ethnic minorities.

If this is not possible according to the film’s script, then at least a third of the rest of the cast must be made up of women, representatives of the LGBT community, racial or ethnic minorities, or people with disabilities.

The Academy established analytical requirements for the creative and technical staff working on the film: directors, screenwriters, composers, makeup artists, producers, etc.

The same rules apply to post-production participants: marketers, film distributors, and public relations people.

In addition, at the request of the Oscars organizers, students from the listed groups should participate in the work on the films.

It was previously reported that a film about a Ukrainian migrant was nominated for an Oscar. The correspondent also wrote that 10 nominees will be nominated for an Oscar in the Best Picture category.
