Apple has officially announced the date of the presentation, which will introduce new iPhone 12 smartphones, new Apple Watch smartwatches, the latest version of the iOS 14 operating system and other novelties. The event will take place exactly one week later, on September 15, 2020.
Updated: Bloomberg columnist Mark Gurman, who has repeatedly reported reliable information about upcoming Apple innovations, reportsthat on September 15 only the first part of the presentation will take place with the announcement of the new Apple Watch and iPad, and the presentation of the iPhone 12 will take place in October.
The event will take place in Apple Park at 20:00 Kiev time (10 am PDT), information about it is already available on Apple’s events page.
According to network sources, in a week we will see the following new elements:
- four new iPhones with OLED displays in 5.4 ″, 6.1 ″ and 6.7 ″ – the main models of the iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Max in aluminum will be available in 5.4 ″ and 6.1 ″, and the premium iPhone 12 Pro and iPhone 12 Pro Max are available in 6.1 “and 6.7” steel housings. All four models will receive 5G support and an updated design with less rounded edges. The line will receive a new dark blue color instead of green, and LIDAR will be used only on the older 6.7-inch iPhone 12 Pro Max;
- The new iPad Air tablet will receive an updated design in the style of the iPad Pro line, but analysts do not mention the updated iPad mini model (perhaps Apple decided that the company’s large smartphones will gradually replace its own small tablets). Leaks indicate the new product will receive slimmer screen bezels and a Touch ID fingerprint scanner built into the power button;
- two new models of Apple Watch smart watches at once: the new Apple Watch Series 6 with maximum functionality and a more affordable model with basic functionality, which will replace the obsolete Apple Watch Series 3 of the line;
- more compact and affordable Apple HomePod smart speaker;
- new on-ear headphones under Apple’s own brand instead of a Beats model.
