The Interior Ministry reported how many “letters of happiness” drivers received in three months
In the summer almost 834 thousand tickets were issued for speeding, of which almost 646 thousand have already been paid.
Fines for traffic violations registered by the automatic system are paid by a high percentage of drivers. This was stated by the first deputy chief of the patrol police department, Alexei Biloshitsky, at a press conference at the Interior Ministry on Tuesday, September 8.
The ministry reported on the results of the first 100 days of operation of the automatic system for recording photos and videos of traffic violations.
“During the operation of the automatic locking system since June 1, 2020, we issued 833,949 decisions based on the results of speeding traffic violations. As a result of the drafting of these decisions, 645,526 have already been paid”, Biloshitskiy said.
He added that 77% of drivers who break the rules pay fines, and we can say that this is a high level of driver responsibility.
The official also recalled the grace period: if the fine is paid within ten banking days from the date of issue, half is paid.
Finally, more than 25 thousand materials were transferred to the executive service for judicial execution.
Remember that earlier truck drivers were fined 3 million UAH for overcharging in a week. The largest fine of 5,710.5 euros was imposed on the driver of a MAN truck weighing 77.27 tonnes at the rate of 40 tonnes.
