Efremov was taken out of the courtroom handcuffed and chained to a police officer.
The injured party stated that it would not appeal against the verdict.
We will recall, on June 8, that Efremov, in a drunken state, drove into the opposite lane on Smolenskaya Square in central Moscow and made a head-on collision with a VAZ car.
Sergei Zakharov, 57, who was driving him, died in hospital as a result of his injuries.
